Intent: Accessibility Internet Rally Websites
Our team redesigned two websites. One for Keith Maitland and Patrick Floyd, producers of a documentary film about the teenagers who struggle with the loss of their sight and the other for the Dionysium, a place for debate, declamation and debauchery. For Keith and Patrick our goal was to create a website that through its function reflected the contents of the movie. For example, there are two versions of the trailer, one with captions/audio description and one standard, the whole website could be navigated by tabs, and every image was given an alternative text description.
The website for Dionysium focused on two user interfaces, internal and external. An application for easy update was created for staff, and a blog for the visitors, where comments can be left or debate can be continued after the events. In both cases technology was used to create information more readily available for the user of any category, while graphic elements took on a role beyond pure aesthetic, and were driven by their function within the websites.
