A bit about my inspiration and work in this porfolio...
A joyful experience of getting a glimpse of the sunrise, or feeling the warm breeze on the skin may carry with me throughout the day. It is from such moments I draw inspirations, and when I design, I inherently incorporate elements of nature into my work. My desire is to create objects and images that would connect the user/observer to what is naturally good. Few of my projects seen here explored such themes as environmental sustainability and children education, topics that I would like to further investigate in depth.
Because my background is in an interdisciplinary design I use versatile mediums and am not attached to a certain technique or material. On the contrary, designing a new process opens doors to perceiving common objects in a new light. For example, scenes from people's lives began to emerge as I photographed flowers on a perforated surface, or an intricate pattern manifested itself from a repetitious act of molding and vacumforming.
The projects on this website are a combination of student work and work I have done with others after graduation. I perceive collaboration with others as vital part of the design process, sharing ideas and being aware of other's needs can only enhance and improve one's understanding of a project.
Each individual work here is an important step in my evolution as a designer, the visions, the processes, and the successes and failures of the projects are discussed in the supporting paragraphs.
Please enjoy the website.
Thank you,
Ksenija
